Happy Bank Holiday Scotland! The delightful sharing of Grandad’s diaries reminded me that in the summers of my youth England had the first Monday in August as a holiday too. Apparently we switched in 1971 to the last Monday. Perhaps they moved it to avoid the traditional Bank Holiday bad weather. 😂
